We scored top marks once again for our Child and Family Centre from our latest Care Inspectorate report. We scored 5 out of 5 on ‘Quality of care and support’ and for ‘Quality of staffing’.
The report praised staff’s commitment to supporting children and families to maximise their potential and said that the staff had a very good understanding of the needs of the children and their families.
Inspectors spoke to some of the children whose comments included:
“This is our big book. It tells the story of the ‘Tiger who came to tea’. Look at this picture that is me and my friends. Look, we had lots of tigers at our tea party.”
And, “I’m baking a chocolate cake for my brother. I’m putting it in the oven. It’s going to be hot, hot, hot. It has to cool down.” (Imaginative outdoor play.)
Parent feedback
Parents were asked for their feedback and their comments included:
“I couldn’t ask for a better nursery for my son. They go above and beyond to make the children feel at home and create a family atmosphere. My child loves going to nursery and all the staff are amazing with him.”
And, “The Centre is like our second home. My family has benefitted a lot from their services, first with our child who has additional needs and now with our child still attending the nursery. We have met friends through services organised by the nursery. We have had an opportunity to be involved in the parent council where decisions are made by us for our children and ideas shared making everyone part of the big family, the nursery.”
