Update on our services
As we enter a new lockdown, we’re still open! We continue to do all we can to meet the needs of the guests and families we work with while keeping everyone safe. All of our activities continue to be monitored and may be adapted as new guidance emerges.
City Centre Project
We are adapting our service to reflect the new lockdown. We’re still open from 10am to 4pm. However, instead of our normal Drop-in we are moving to a door service with takeaway food. At the door we will be able to establish the needs of our guests. We will encourage people to stay home after they have received their food, however, if they have an urgent need we have the capacity inside for limited advocacy.
Socially distanced walks will provide an opportunity to meet with guests on a one to one basis. This helps with the mental health of our guests and enables us to find out individual support needs.
We continue to stay in touch with guests with phone calls to help them know they’re not alone. Online activities, such as Bible studies, prayer times, cookery lessons, and English classes continue on Zoom.
Child and Family Centre
Our Nursery is open for the children of key workers and any other vulnerable children. We will continue to support any parents or carers who find themselves in crisis. Other activities, including after school clubs and Bible studies, continue on Zoom.
Overnight Welcome Centre
The Overnight Welcome Centre is based in a hotel to enable guests to socially distance and to self-isolate if required. The operation of this service is unchanged.
Thank you
Our work would not be possible without your support. We’re very grateful for all the support we have received in the past year as we’ve adapted our services to ever changing guidelines and restrictions. Thank you!
Ways to help
Pray: Please pray for us – for wisdom as we make decisions about how to safely run services and create a sense of community, and for God to be with all the men, women and families we are in contact with. Pray they would know they’re not alone and that there’s always hope.
