The annual Family Holiday Club at our Child and Family Centre started on Monday 4 July and will run until Friday 22 July. The Club is taking place in Elder Park and we are delighted to share some photographs of the activities.

The children have been very creative with arts and crafts including environmental pictures, rock painting, collages, origami and playdough. There have been many games, a mini Olympics and storytelling brought to us by the Together for Children group. The children have also made bird feeders and kites as they learn more about nature and outdoor play.

The Holiday Club allows the adults to build their relationships with the children and other families. This is especially important for new families to the Govan area as they settle into the local community. As one dad said “Great for the community. Both kids love it, myself and my wife too. Hopefully the club can run for many years as the kids will benefit from it. Also gives the parents something to fill the time during the holidays.” And the aunt of one of the children commented “Second year I have come with my nephew and always made welcome. Staff are so friendly, amazing community work. Well done Glasgow City Mission!”

We pray for good weather and continued fun for the rest of the Club.
