Today the sun is shining and we have the prospect of nearly a week of blue skies and hot temperatures. This is both unusual for Glasgow, and very welcome. However, our thoughts at Glasgow City Mission are turning to the upcoming winter and the cost of living crisis. The forecasts for inflation and especially fuel bills are shocking, and they will have the largest effect on the most vulnerable in our society. Reports suggest that those on the lowest incomes may have to choose between heating their homes and feeding themselves.

On 17 September, we will undertake our Big Arran Challenge. Climbing Goatfell, cycling round the island or both. This will challenge our participants but we also hope that the day will raise funds to help us to support our guests this coming winter.

It is not too late to register to take part, just complete the online form on our event page. However, if you are unable to take part, but would like to support the event financially please donate by clicking the button below.
