CM has been part of the Mission family for a while. She hit a low point in her life and she came to us looking for support and wanting to get away to a rehab.
CM knew that she needed to go to a facility that was far away, so she could get help to deal with the inner trauma and cycles of destruction she felt she was living in. CM has now been in rehab down south for the last four months and it has not been an easy journey for her. She has weekly chats with staff at the Mission, and receives letters and care packages from us. Keeping the relationship open has been vital for her recovery so far and it lets her know she is still part of the Mission family even though she is currently away from us.
It has been lovely to receive videos and photos from the rehab of CM’s journey, keeping us updated. This is a vital part of anyone’s recovery; people need to feel they are still part of a community as they go through the process of being in rehab, especially when they are having down days. It is also a comfort for CM to know she can call us for a chat and a prayer.
We will continue to support CM while she is in rehab and when she comes out.
