On Friday 6 September, almost 50 daredevils took to the skies to raise support for Glasgow City Mission. Participants had been fundraising for weeks prior to the event, and finally got to test their mettle on Friday morning. The sun shone as groups of 5 were hoisted 100ft into the air and awaited their turn to be clipped onto the 1000ft long wire that took them along the river to the Scottish Ambulance base by the Clydeside Distillery. We were supported by Glasgow City Mission guests, volunteers, local companies, and individuals of all permitted age ranges. Our oldest supporter made headlines as teams from the BBC and Clyde 1 came down to document Gladys Speedie as she marked her 90th birthday by participating in the event. The event was a huge success, everyone made it down safely and we are delighted to report no falls!

Once again a huge thank you to all of our zip sliders for all of their fundraising efforts, and for being fantastic sports by taking part.

It’s still not too late to support our zip sliders which you can do by following the link below.
